For the Brief History

Aquamarines are gems belonging to the beryl family, which also includes emerald. They take their name from the Latin word "aqua marina", meaning "sea water", due to their blue colour. Among the aquamarines, Santa Maria aquamarines are considered the most sought-after and precious. They take their name from the famous deposits in the Santa Maria region of Brazil. These deposits have been renowned for producing exceptionally high quality aquamarines, not least because of their intense colour and great clarity.

With this setting, we sought a solitaire design that gave the impression of defying all the rules of our trade. The frame is deliberately imposing, to maximise the levitating effect given to the stone at its centre!
