The Zenith brand is considered the very first vertically integrated watch manufacturer in Switzerland. The Manufacture was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in his home town of Le Locle in the Neuchâtel mountains of Switzerland. Georges Favre-Jacot's objective was to reach the pinnacle of precision and innovation by combining under one roof all the know-how, skills and watchmaking knowledge required to produce a watch, thereby creating one of the very first industrial watchmaking factories in the modern sense of the term. A visionary! The company quickly acquired a solid reputation in time measurement, winning all chronometry competitions. The best example of this excellence remains the 2,333 chronometry prizes won since 1903. An absolute record in watchmaking. It was only in 1911 that the factory of Georges Favre-Jacot et Cie became the Manufacture Zenith, after the name of one of its movements registered in 1897.
