Longines Admiral Automatic Ref. 8181-2 Circa 1968 35 mm
Nice vintage Longines from the 60's in a very good state of conservation. This Longines Admiral Automatic has an incredible charm, will you fall for it?
The little story
It was towards the end of the 1950s that Longines launched its Admiral range. Intended to be resolutely modern, the collection included sport and tradition watches, often with date and day mechanisms. Recognised at the time as one of the best movement manufacturers, Longines Admiral watches were very often powered by the highest precision calibres, like the Longines Flagship and Conquest.
What you need to know
A nice silver dial with a good patina, onyx indexes, golden hands and a calibre 501 automatic movement. This Longines Admiral 5 stars probably dates from 1969, and it is a very nice piece to start with in the world of vintage watches. Its 35mm steel case is ideal for both male and female wrists. Its calibre is reliable and precise, as evidenced by the 5 stars on its dial. These stars have always marked the improvement of the quality and reliability of the brand's movements. Five stars was the maximum number that could be achieved.
