In 2019, Manufacture Grand Seiko launched a collection of four models for the U.S. market, inspired by the Nature of Time and the 24 sekki, the Japanese seasons marking the perpetual change of nature.
Today marks the global launch of these four timepieces to complement the Heritage collection.

The model we are featuring is the SBGA413, called SHŪNBUN, which represents the spring equinox, when cherry blossom petals scattered by the wind cover the surface of a river. Its pale pink textured dial captures the magic of this precious moment in the Japanese calendar and not only expresses the beauty of Sakura, but alludes to the exquisite pleasure that can be derived from a deep understanding of the ephemeral nature of time.

An iconic design

The design of this SBGA413 is based on the legendary 62GS, Grand Seiko's first automatic watch launched in 1967. This timepiece became very popular thanks to its striking design featuring a mirrored, multi-faceted case and a very open dial, achieved through a bezel-less construction and Grand Seiko's signature Zaratsu polishing technique. Pure, refined and noble, the 62GS is a precious classic.

An exceptional Hi-Beats caliber

This SBGA413 is powered by a Manufacture 9R65 self-winding Spring Drive caliber. This unique movement from the Grand Seikoi Manufacture demonstrates all the know-how and mastery of the Japanese brand in movement design. It combines all the group's technologies, with a mechanical caliber base, but where the traditional escapement has been replaced by a "Tri-synchro", where a quartz crystal is located. Few watchmakers can offer such a caliber, because it is very complex and unique on the market.
This movement produced in the Shinshu Watch Studio offers an exceptional precision of one second per day, as well as a 72-hour power reserve.
