Simplicity at its best

Grand Seiko continues to emphasise slender beauty, elegance and simplicity, presenting this SBGX349. Measuring 34mm in diameter and 10.7mm thick, the case is made of 316L stainless steel and is fully polished by Zaratsu and inspired by the very first Grand Seiko reference released in 1960. Thanks to this contained size, it has a natural and elegant look, which can be worn by a man or a woman. The case has a narrow bezel and a domed sapphire crystal, imitating the acrylic lenses of vintage watches.

This timepiece is the quintessential design of the Japanese Manufacture. Grand Seiko's "The Nature of Time" theme is highlighted here with a dial inspired by the "Gekka".
This SBGX349 Night Sky version is bold, with its inky blue dial, without inscriptions, paying tribute to the expanse of the night sky. The dial features large faceted, applied and polished hour markers. Polished dauphine hands also run along the dial.
Finally, a blue alligator strap equipped with a pin buckle adorns the whole.

When precision goes hand in hand with elegance

Inside, we find the high-performance quartz Manufacture calibre 9F61, the only 9F movement without the date display. This choice was made in order to propose a watch with ideal proportions. Moreover, the Grand Seiko quartz is a high-end movement. Indeed, it is manufactured and assembled by hand by the watchmakers of Seiko Epson, and it does not have to be ashamed of the mechanical or Spring Drive calibers of the brand. The calibre is decorated and jewelled just as a traditional movement would be.

The calibre 9F has many innovative features: it has a double pulse control motor allowing the use of Grand Seiko's long and heavy hands. An automatic adjustment mechanism eliminates any shaking of the seconds hand as it moves across the dial. Finally, the aged quartz crystal is combined with an integrated circuit that is programmed to respond specifically to temperature changes. All of this together allows the calibre 9F61 to offer you an impressive accuracy of +/- 10 seconds per year.
