The 44GS style

This SBGP005 features the 44GS design, in a contemporary version of the 44GS launched in 1967. A true cornerstone of the Grand Seiko style, it is this design that has defined the "Grammar of design" codes. Indeed, these codes are the brand's stylistic signature, and are present on all Grand Seiko models.
This reference has a 40 mm diameter case, with a finish combining Zaratsu polished flat surfaces and brushed edges. There is a night blue sunray dial, adorned with applied, facetted and grooved hour markers. Finely brushed dauphine hands run across the dial. This level of finishing offers an incredible contrast between the dial and the various elements present on it. This creates perfect legibility.
The watch is combined with a three-link steel bracelet with a contrasting finish.
The whole thing is handcrafted with the greatest care in the purest Japanese tradition.

High precision movement

Equipped with a quartz manufacture calibre 9F85, this Grand Seiko watch offers an incredible level of precision of +/- 10 seconds per year. This is made possible by a number of technological innovations, such as a thermo-compensation of the calibre, allowing to regulate the oscillations of the quartz crystal, or a waterproof protection shield to ensure that the rotor is housed in an absolutely airtight environment.
This movement is entirely handmade by two master watchmakers from the Seiko Espson studio. It also has a function to adjust the hour hand independently without stopping the second hand, in order to preserve the high precision of the movement.
