Grand Seiko Heritage quartz GMT champagne dial steel bracelet 40 mm

Elegant traveller

Grand Seiko is offering a traveller in its Heritage collection with a design that combines sporty chic and elegance. This SBGN011 has a 40 mm steel case with a 12.2 mm polished and brushed finish. A champagne-coloured sunray dial printed with a 24-hour GMT scale is integrated with the usual 12-hour scale. The watch also has a date indication at 3 o'clock, with a finely framed window.
The attention to detail is exceptional, as usual on any Grand Seiko. The case finish is an excellent blend of brushed finish and the famous Zaratsu polish. The hour markers are faceted and applied, the dauphine hands are finely polished and the GMT hand is differentiated from the rest by its hand-blued tint.
The steel bracelet is not to be outdone, and presents a general brushed finish, with a small bevel on the edges and the polished sides. A double push-button folding clasp with the Grand Seiko logo is used to open and close the strap.

Movement side

The watch is powered by a Manufacture calibre 9F86. It is hand-assembled by Seiko Epson's watchmakers, and offers all the know-how acquired by the brand since 1969. Indeed, it is a high-end quartz calibre guaranteeing a precision of +/- 10 seconds. To achieve such a result, the calibre is thermo-compensated in order to regulate the oscillations of the quartz according to temperature variations.
Setting the time and date is very easy with this calibre. You just have to pull the crown to the first position to move the hour hand independently. The second position allows you to adjust the hour and minute hands to set the exact time. It should be noted that a fine adjustment is possible, in order not to stop the second hand, and thus let its high precision continue.
