This SBG009 has a stainless steel case with ideal dimensions of 40 mm in diameter and 10.6 mm thick. Its finishing is superb, as for all Grand Seiko, with an alternation between satin-finished surfaces and Zaratsu mirror-polished zones, all hand-made. Its very thin bezel opens onto a champagne sunray dial, which the Japanese call silk sun-ray. The latter is very sober, revealing only the name and logo of the brand. The indexes are facetted and applied, and the dauphine hands are finely polished.
This watch is mounted on a three-part steel "Oyster" type bracelet, which is incredibly comfortable. It is fully brushed and gives the watch a sporty-chic look. The clasp is a folding clasp with push buttons, the same thickness as the rest of the strap.
Intended to be an everyday watch, it is equipped with a sapphire crystal and its crown is screwed down to guarantee a water resistance of 100 meters.

This watch is equipped with a quartz calibre 9F85. Robust, it guarantees an incredible precision of +/- 10 seconds per year. This is made possible by numerous technological innovations implemented by the Japanese Manufacture. Thus, this calibre, hand-assembled by Seiko Epson's watchmakers, features a thermo-compensation system that takes 540 temperature readings per day in order to regulate the oscillations of the quartz crystal and thus provide its unrivalled precision.
This 9F85 movement also has a function that allows the hour hand to be set without stopping the second hand, in order to maintain high precision when changing time zones.
