Prospex 1970 Diver's Modern reinterpretation Naomi Uemura "Tallest Peak"
The Japanese brand Seiko is known to enthusiasts for its PROSPEX collection of sports watches! This range is one of the most important of the Manufacture, and includes many watches designed to meet challenges. PROSPEX, as the name suggests, simply means "Professional Specifications". It is Seiko's answer to the professional world that wants nothing but the best from its watches. As such, professionals and fans of the range have deemed it the quintessential tool watch to own. Indeed, Seiko meets their requirements for robustness, durability and precision in every respect. The proof is that all watches are subjected to rigorous tests under real-life conditions. Tests that have been passed with success, confirming a high level of design and manufacture! This collection includes a majority of automatic watches, with calibres and cases adapted to diving, but also solar quartz watches.
Three worlds: the sea, the land and the sky
The Prospex collection is primarily based on the maritime world. A very large part of the range is in fact concentrated on diving watches, ranging from the small diver's 200 metres to the ultra high-performance watch that can descend to a depth of thousands of metres. The more terrestrial watches have an equally robust design, with case colours and dials that contrast as much as possible. They usually have compass bezels. Finally, the Prospex "Air" watches are often distinguished by their GMT hand, to indicate the time in a second time zone, very useful for frequent travellers.
Sumo : the massive dive watch
Some references are affectionately called "Sumo" by Seiko fans because of their size, shape and 12 o'clock index. Immediately recognisable, the latest model has been updated with new, more modern features! These include a ceramic bezel and anti-scratch coating on the case and strap for added durability. A new 3-row bracelet has been specially designed for this model, while the clasp has also been updated.
Solar « Arnie » : the multifunctional diving machine!
This dive watch is a modern reinterpretation of Seiko's "Hybrid Diver's", a reference released in 1982 that combines analogue and digital technologies. This model is also known as Arnie, after the actor who wore it in the movie Commando, and its shape is nicknamed Tuna by Seiko fans, due to its larger diameter and particular tuna can-like design.
Heritage Turtle 1968 Reinterpretation: Diving Icon
This collection is a modern interpretation of the original 1968 Turtle, with an elegant and sporty 5-row bracelet. These references feature a new, more compact clasp, specially developed to fit the slim case, while the date window is positioned at four o'clock, so as to be legible and not interfere with the indices.
Diver's 1965 Reinterpretation :First Japanese diver's watch
These references are inspired by the 1965 diver's watch, Seiko and Japan's first diver's watch. They are improved on the original for greater comfort and visibility, with a clear dial layout, smaller case size, lower centre of gravity and a 70-hour power reserve.
Willard : Apocalypse Now
These watches are based on the reference 6105, which was popular with American troops in the 1970s. This watch was notably worn in the film "Apocalypse Now" by Martin Sheen as Captain Willard. These are very durable and easy to read watches. They are distinguished from other diving watches by their crown protector. The new references have been modernised compared to the original version, with ultra-legible dials, a power reserve extended to 70 hours and a smaller case for improved comfort.
Solar Diver’s : Reliability in everyday life
This collection of sapphire crystal watches are solar powered. They are designed to be practical, reliable and durable in extreme or everyday environments, for experts, sportsmen and adventure lovers.
Alpinist : An all-terrain watch!
First introduced in 1965, this collection was designed to accompany Japanese explorers and mountain guides. They are designed to be reliable in difficult terrain. This range of the Terre collection is very popular with Seiko fans.
Seiko PADI : a unique collaboration
Seiko is the only watch brand in the world to design a range of professional diving watches in the PADI colours and logo. PADI (The Professional Association of Diving Instructors) is the world's leading scuba diving training organisation. It brings together divers from around the world who share a passion for adventure and a love of the ocean.
