The legendary Seamaster 300 will be the best ally on your wrist. In 1957, Omega launched this iconic watch, the company's first professional diving watch. More than 60 years later, this collection remains a favorite of collectors and lovers of nautical watches. Today, the Seamaster 300 features the company's most advanced technologies, with Co-Axial movements certified as Master Chronometer. These models are very close to the original 1957 "Trilogy" model. The vintage-inspired design has been completely redesigned to incorporate state-of-the-art technologies and innovative materials. These watches have a diameter of 41 mm and are mounted on an expandable strap or leather band. All feature the typical Seamaster 300 dial with triangular markers and large Arabic numerals. They also feature the iconic Lollipop hand!
History of the Seamaster 300: The explorer's watch
Omega presents the Seamaster 300, within the famous Professional "trilogy" of 1957: Seamaster - Speedmaster - Railmaster. At that time, the Seamaster adopted the great innovations that would lead it into the world of diving, where a whole new universe opened up with the rise of scuba diving, a new and exciting leisure activity that was now affordable and accessible to almost everyone. With this democratization of the depths, the Omega Seamaster was prepared to play a new role. With its ultra-legible display, large arrow hands and fine indexes on a black background, the Seamaster offered a first advantage. But its main asset was its exceptional water resistance, indicated by the "Naiad" star on the logo on the crown. The 200 meter water resistance allowed it to tickle its main competitors. For the record, the Seamaster 300 was waterproof to a depth of 200 meters but was known as the "300" for its performance beyond the capabilities of the testing devices of the time. Very quickly, the first Seamaster 300 and its subsequent variations quickly became the divers of choice for many explorers and divers, especially with the reference CK 2913. For example, Jacques-Yves Cousteau and his team used it during his "Precontinent II" experiments in the Red Sea in the summer of 1963, to prove that divers could live in saturated water for long periods without experiencing any adverse effects. The Seamaster 300 also became the timepiece of many military divers around the world, including those in the British Special Boat Service. The Seamaster 300 is simply timeless. The brand's name stands alongside other great manufactures in the line of iconic divers. Today, these watches have remained true to their original design but now incorporate features that keep pace with technological and watchmaking evolution!
