The sports watch according to LIP
The reliability and resistance of the Himalaya models have made the reputation of this collection of the French watch brand LIP! This line of sports watches was born from a discussion between Fred LIP, a mountain enthusiast, and his friend, Lionnel TERRAY, a high mountain guide, who was looking for a reliable and solid watch. But it was Maurice Herzog, a well-known French mountaineer, who popularized the model. Indeed, he was the first to climb Annapurna, a feat for the time. This is why the watch acquired the name of the mountain range that houses the highest peaks in the world: HIMALAYA. This watch has truly made history. Indeed, "Nine out of ten of the 'Greats' of mountaineering chose it for its extraordinary resistance to the elements and to shocks", declared the 1959 advertisements. Associated with many sporting events, "it has equipped all expeditions", including the Tour de France, where it rewarded the best sportsman of the day.
A timeless model
The collection features timelessly elegant watches for men and women. These vintage style models are equipped with automatic or quartz movements, with a wide range of case, dial and strap finishes, so you can find your ideal watch! Available in 35 or 40mm, Himalaya offers many skeleton models to admire the functioning of a mechanical watch.
