The Pelagos 39 model joins TUDOR's family of technical diving watches with a complementary and versatile proposition. Indeed, where the Pelagos, Pelagos LHD and Pelagos FXD models continue a purely technical aquatic heritage by offering functions specific to hyper-specialized and relatively confidential types of professional diving, Pelagos 39 is a traditional, compact, versatile mechanical diver's watch, with a touch of elegance created by the brilliance of the satin-sun finishes on its dial and bezel insert.

A 39 mm case with matte-gloss contrast

The Pelagos 39 model's skilful balance is achieved thanks to an entirely satin-finished case, for a matte effect in line with the aesthetics of the Pelagos collection, which contrasts skillfully with the brilliance of its black satin-sun ceramic bezel insert enhanced with a graduation charged with white luminous material. A bezel whose diameter slightly exceeds that of the case middle to optimize grip.

The dial of the Pelagos 39 is composed of a satin-sun main disk, whose sunburst finish creates an effect of depth. The bead-blasted 45° conical flange offers a striking contrast with the black dial. The indexes, made of luminescent one-piece ceramic composite, are applied to the dial and ensure excellent readability in the dark. The name “Pelagos”, inscribed in cherry red, is positioned at 6 o'clock and adds a touch of bright color that balances the whole.

Motor side: a Manufacture calibre MT5400

At the heart of the Pelagos 39 beats the Manufacture MT5400 Chronometer-certified (COSC) caliber. Its construction is designed for sturdiness, longevity, reliability and precision, as in the case of its variable-inertia balance maintained by a solid double-anchored through-bridge. Thanks to its silicon balance spring, the MT5400 offers outstanding chronometric performance, far exceeding COSC standards. While the COSC tolerates a variation of -4 to +6 seconds per day, Tudor guarantees a precision of -2 to +4 seconds for an assembled watch, testifying to exceptional watchmaking expertise.

Another notable feature is the Manufacture Calibre MT5400's so-called “weekend-proof” power reserve of around 70 hours, allowing the wearer to put the watch down on Friday evening and pick it up again on Monday morning without having to wind it.

Two straps: titanium and rubber

The Pelagos 39 comes with two bracelets, designed to offer optimum comfort and maximum versatility. The first, in fully satin-finished grade 2 titanium, features Tudor's “T-fit” quick-adjust system. This ingenious system enables the length of the 8mm bracelet to be adjusted without tools, thanks to a five-position mechanism. The folding safety clasp, also in titanium, ensures a perfect fit on the wrist and features a 25-mm bracelet extension function, to enable the watch to be worn over a wetsuit.

For diving enthusiasts, a black natural rubber strap is also included. This bracelet features a titanium pin buckle and also offers a second brown extension so the watch can be worn over a wetsuit. Titanium “end links” ensure perfect integration with the case.
