The story

In 1969, TUDOR launched a diving watch with a blue dial and bezel. Soon, other sports watches in the brand's collection were also adorned in blue, creating an enduring aesthetic signature known as “TUDOR blue”. Adopted by the French Navy for its TUDOR diving watches in the 1970s, this livery has become part of the imagination. The Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” model continues this tradition, with its navy blue dial and bezel disk.

The model

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” model is so named in reference to its color, of course, but also to the year 1958 in which the first TUDOR diver's watch water-resistant to 200 meters, the reference 7924 or “Big Crown”, was introduced. Among other aesthetic nods to this historic watch, this model features a 39 mm-diameter case that approximates the characteristic proportions of the 1950s. The dial, in a deep, slightly granulated navy blue, features a domed shape that adds visual depth. The discreet, elegant applied hour-markers contrast with the blue of the dial.
